How did you come up with THAT name?

That's weird...Gone with the Wind is my all time favorite movie. I had a cocker spaniel named Gable after (of course) Clark Gable.

I always wanted to name my daugher (when I had one) Katie Scarlett. Our last name is even Irish . But I have a sister-in-law that I don't really care for named Katie, so that kinda flew out the window...

Reeba - (McIntyre)
Tucker - (Tanya, of course)
and Ruby (Ruby don't take your love to town..)

My daughter, Layla, (named after the song by Eric Clapton) would be happy to have a boxer with her name. It would be a takoff on the boxer Ali idea. I can't use it because it would get confusing at my house!

Months before we got Legend, my husband and I went to Barnes & Noble (huge bookstore) got some coffee, sat down in a couple of the fat easy chairs and pored through dozens of name books. Some were dog name books, some were baby name books...trying to come up with something we could both agree on.

I know some people say that you should get the dog first, THEN name it, but if you know me, you know I gotta PLAN OUT EVERYTHING!

I liked "Tyson" (for the boxer) but my husband didn't...he said it was too "overused". We wanted something different...

My husband liked Silo :rolleyes: I don't know WHERE he came up with that one! After HOURS of deliberating, we decided on Legend.

Funny thing I didnt realized it till now! I named all dogs 4 letters expect Sassy.


AS for Kita, She have a strongly akita looks. She is a female. soo I thoguth why not get rid of "A" . Soo named her Kita.

Sassy, I couldnt decided to name her till I took her ot my roommates' work at Central Market. A guy that worked there always says Sassy to any ladies. And he said ohh Sassy how are you little girl Sassy! Soo i thoguth why not call her that.

Baja, sister of Sassy. When my roommates and I went to pick her up. I looked at her and saying are you sure it is Sassy's sister? They both looks sooo different. She was soo small comapred to Sassy. But she had the boxer looks! Soo I looked up into the dog names in the internet. Found a perfect name for her . Baja in spanish mean short!

Brie a darling one! Found her name thur internet too in dog names list. Saw this name and sound soo cutie!

Our Boxer, Layla, was named after the Eric Clapton song

Bella came with her name but it suits her

Ruben was named after the artist Rubens clowicon

Amy was named as it means 'beloved' but I think 'Hell-Dog' would have fit her better

Tess was Tess from a song as in Tess the rain (and they call the wind Mariah )

Bo was named after the english cricketer Botham

Rebel was Rebel as in reality he was anything but

Sylvester is named after Sylvester the cat
Lexi's real name is Alexis. I loved the name and actually had it picked out before I got her.
Baxter came with his name from rescue
Dusty came with her name from rescue
Garrett came to us from the shelter with no name and I had a friend who had an ex named Garrett and I had always loved the name.

Okay so we aren't that creative with names, but we love them just the same :D

When we went to get Baxter I wanted a male named Bailey and I wanted a brindle.
