How did you come up with THAT name?

It's all in a name!

Glenn had Moose (at Rainbow Bridge) and Nala when I met him. Moose's name was really Moonshadow.

I'm sure Nala was named for the Lion King Nala. Glenn's daughter would have been about 3 then and I'm sure she got to pick it. I wasn't around then.

When Nala and Moose had Sumo, we did a household vote with a bunch of names and since he was the dominant and sole survivor of a litter of five (quite pudgy I might add) Sumo was a good name for him. But we decided at that point that all of our dogs would carry Moose's name for their papers (or even if they didn't have any papers). Sumo became Moonshadow's Solo Sumo. He was the only puppy Moose ever had that survived.

After Sumo was stolen and we found our precious white Meta we searched through the history of boxers and found the name Meta as the first purebred boxer brought over from Europe. She was white. Meta became Moonshadow's Mild-mannered Meta.

When we purchased Rigo we went back to the history books and one of Meta's grandchildren was a champion named Rigo who set the standard for fawn boxers. Rigo became Moonshadow's Regal Rigo. His father's name was Rio and he is as classic fawn as you get.

I can't wait to get another one and research all over again. (Frankly, I continually think of names for our next ones!)

WE JUST GOT OUR TWO NEW PUPS, A MALE AND A FEMALE. THEY WERE BEING BORN DURING THE TERRORIST ATTACKS, SO WE NAMED THE GIRL "LIBERTY", AND THE BOY "JUSTICE." WE THOUGHT IT SEEMED APPROPRIATE!!!!

Boomer was Boomer before I rescued him in August. I don't know if that was his name before, or if the folks at LSBR named him. I fondly call him "Herr Boomer" for the lack of a better German name.

Cheers,

I find when George is sweet and cuddly I call him Georgie

I'm sure it will be Libby. Liberty is a mouthful and I'm forever shortening names. ;)

Honestly, although I like the idea behind it, I'm really not quite sold on the name yet. I keep calling her "Lilly" instead of "Libby"...duh...I wanted to name her Talullah (like Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' youngest) but my hubby didn't want that many "T's" in the house.

My boxer that I grewup with was named Rocky, after the movie.
Cooper's was by chance. I had gone and paid the deposit on him and would be picking him up in a week and a half. Hubby and I could not agree on a name and finally I saw a little boy on the front page of the newspaper and his name was Cooper. Casey b/c I wanted another C name to go with Cooper.

Monty for Montgomery, a Germanic name meaning "Man Power".

Also for the British commander during world war 2 "Bernard Montgomery".

Personally I have always loved the name Monty. My last dog was already named Owain and I always said if I was lucky to have another male dog I would call him Monty. My Boxer certainly lives up to his name and meaning.

Originally, I wanted to name my puppy Maximus, but when we got Tyson, it just didnt seem to fit. I tried to think of some character names from Harry Potter, but nothing seemed to fit. I tossed around a few names with T's, like Tyler, Tucker, etc. Finally someone mentioned Tyson and thats what stuck. Now I call him my ty :) If I ever get a female, I will name her Laila, after Laila Ali :)

That's a good one...I won't steal it since you called it first;) .

Maniago...
I do believe that Bruce and Demi named their daughter after Talullah Bankhead. I've heard the name before but it's before my time. Wasn't she an actress?
