How cold is cold for a boxer?!

Hey everyone...I live in Va and this week is eally cold here between 40 and 54F, well feels like is cold enough for me and my Baby Bruno...He's always shaking before we start to walk, I bought a new jacket for him but he's still shaking...Do they relly feel that cold? Can they get sick?What should I do to help him to don't feel to much cold when we're walking!!! Thanks

A jacket is a perfect way to start. Boxers who aren't use to the cold will shake some can even get climate shock you just have to make sure you aren't out for long periods of time. I live in northern minnesota where it can be -10 on average in the winter months sometimes getting to -30 degrees and my boxers wear jackets the ployester or fleece ones they also wear booties. When it is usually 40 degrees we start putting their jackets on. When it gets below 0 we only have them out for 5 minutes. I would suggest only go on 20 minute walks until your boxer gets use to the temp change.

Thanks, I'm going to buy a jacket for him tomorrow...poor baby he was so cold today, hopefully he likes to wear it.
