Boxer Pal
Hi everyone!

We have a female boxer almost 11 months old. She weighs 55 lbs. I was just wondering at what age, typically, do Boxers (females) stop growing. She seems to have a good amount of skin to grow into still, and hasn't really filled out yet. Does anyone remember how big their girls were at this age, or have any advice on if she is done growing?

Thanks!

I have always heard that a boxer quits growing upwards by the time they are 18 months to two years old and then they fill out up until they are three. My baby will be two in November and she is 23 inches high and weighs 62.6lbs. So yes she will grow more.

She will stop growing in height by around 14-18 months. At around 18 months her growth plates will (typically on a boxer) be fully closed and hardened, so she's not going to grow upwards after that. But a boxer will continue to fill out until about three years old - so although she won't get taller after 18 months, she will probably get heavier.

At 11 months, your girl is probably within a couple of inches of her final adult height. For a female boxer, that should be 21-23 inches (measured ground to withers) and weighing 55-60 lb.

Do you think my 34 pound peanut at 8 months will ever reach 55-60 pounds?
Well, how tall is she right now? Chances are, she'll get to two or three inches taller than her 8 month height by the time she's finished. Being able to guesstimate how tall she is likely to get will make it easier to make a guess at what weight she might attain.
