How about an Ontario Boxer Bash?

I asked generally about KW area because it is central, but I meant all of Ontario and anyone else who wants to come. I am currently enquiring into a facility that is massive (and best of all INDOORS!) The facility has done social events for rescue groups before and I am enquiring about potentially having one for boxerworld members as well as boxer rescue. The facility is massive, it is indoors and has webcams! So everyone who wants to take a peek at the facility can go for it (during business hours ofcourse, as the place is dark when it is closed, although webcams are still on) check here

I would really love for this to happen and it seems that us here in Ontario can't seem to all get together. The facility would be great because it is massive, has washrooms, is used for doggy daycare, has lots of doggy equipment (agility stuff) qualified staff, and it beats being outdoors as the weather is getting unpredictable now. I would love some input. Depending on numbers I do know of another facility that maybe willing to allow us to go there instead (if there aren't many interested) it is much smaller, but is still indoors, with pottys for furbabies and parentals. I would prefer wagntrain as they are bright but who is interested? We might have to do a small fee (to cover rental costs)

Please let me know if this is a good idea and if you are interested so I know if I should keep looking into this or if it is a bad idea

We would love to attend! Depending on how far from Toronto it is, and when the date would be set. I would love to see other Boxer owners and chat, while our babies are having a ball. Definitly keep me posted on what's going on!

I just looked at the website... Kitchener isn't so bad, and I think my hubby wouldn't have anything against driving there to meet other Boxer maniacs. I'm definitly in!

KW = Kitchener Waterloo (which is quite central) off the 401 for easy access north and south.

I am still waiting to hear from Wag'n'Train about a rental. What are everyones thoughts on getting boxer rescue involved? I am going to enquire about a few other potential places, the nice thing about Wag'n'train is a) the web cam! so other BW memebers can watch! B) its inside C) access to outside to potty D) works great for owners E) has a "time out" area if anyones baby gets too worked up

That facility looks amazing! I love watching the webcam... I cant image if my girl was there, I would want to watch her all day!

I live in Buffalo, NY and would love to come to an outing like that! Its about 2.5 hours away, but I would be more than willing to drive that on a weekend. Keep us posted on the date you choose and how much we should all pitch in to reserve that place! Good Idea!!!

Yeah I was thinking about that... Maybe we should have some sort of entry fee or something to pitch in on the rental... Depending on how many boxer owners are willing to come. I could let my breeder know what's going on and ask her if she would like to come, and I do have some neighbours with Boxers so I could make a flyer and give them one.
We just need to work on a date, and wether or not the fee is goning to be at the door. We might even get CTV interested LoL and we could get some money for Boxer Rescue Ontario!... Wait, am I ahead of myself?

sounds like everything is comming together, I can talk to boxer rescue (I just wanted to make sure everyone was comfortable with it) I have a contact there and I'm sure they would be more than willing to do a chairity event for themselves! CTV would definately want to get involved same as CKCO (local news) I am still waiting on info from Wag'N'Train and I am looking into a few other locations, the KW Kennel Club, Norma Jeannes Puppy Power, and Delightful Dogs all have facilities. I know of one other but I don't like her (the owner) she still believes in the alpha roll over... not the safest. My #1 choice is Wag'n'Train as they are a very well equipped facility and all their staff are well trained. Next Delightful Dogs actually does "birthday parties, weddings, and special events" so I am waiting to hear from her, then I will check with the Kennel Club and Norma Jeanne (she is real nice, but I have never been to her facility) I will keep everyone posted as I get info.
