I don't get this problem with Zoey, but I clean a lot of houses so heres a tip: Let the hair dry, then use a Swiffer cloth to magnet all the hair up! It should work pretty good: I use that in my car when the interior starts to look more like Zoey than Zoey does

hmmmm, you might be on to something here. This sounds like the route to go. I usually do try and vacume his bed, but I usually have an old comforter folded up several times or just bundled up in his crate so its not the easiest to vacume. Plus, usually the main reason I'm washing it is he has peed in it, so that makes vacuming a lil more difficult as well.

I don't have this problem either and I have 3 that shed everywhere. I think maybe something is up with your washer as you suspect. I don't think it means you have to get a new one but maybe a service call to give it a tune-up?:D

My two shed like crazy. I am constantly vacuming!!! I get some hair in my washer but it wipes out easy. I have a ton in my dryer lint trap. I usually can't get it all our of there!!! I think the swiffer idea is awesome and plan to try it with both

I try to remove as much hair as possible before washing it, then after the wash I put the machine on empty.
I don´t use the dryer much as we live by the sea and there is a constant breeze.

Kirby don't shed much, but Rigg's (pug) sheds like crazy! I usualy take the beds and blankies out side and shake them off before I wash them (hang them over the line and beat it with a broom!!) Works for me, just don't leave your mouth open!!

Mason and Aspen shed like crazy- I vacuum or shake outside anything that is theres before it goes into the wash. I think something might be wrong with your washer though, maybe the drain isn't hooked up right???? Like I said, mine dogs shed like crazy and I have never had the problem you are.

Are you brushing the coat of the dog on a semi-regular basis?
If you get the shed hair off of the dog's coat, it doesn't end up all over the house.
Brushing through their coat takes a few minutes, but it saves a ton of time and extra washing later.
(just a thought)

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem so what do you guys do to clean your washer out after washing bedding, blankets, etc etc....

Help!!!!

I run an extra rinse cycle with nothing in it and while it is filling I wipe my hand around in the drum walls and wipe off the hair. You can always do a hot cycle with some vinegar to disinfect it.
