My baby's name is Gwen, and she is 7 months old. When we got her she was said to be house trained but doesn't really seem to be. She knows that going outside is good but does not tell us when she has to go out. In general she is not very vocal and is actually kind of shy. At this point we have had her for 2 weeks and have only had one mistake free day. We have yet to catch her in the act and I am looking for any and all suggestions. Thanks.

Often when a dog moves to a new home, they will have a relapse in the housetraining. Treat her like a new puppy, let her out often and praise her when she goes outside.

Keep her in your sight at all times so you will see the warning signs and get her outside before it is too late.

When we first brought Henry home at 9 months old, we were having a really hard time housetraining him too. I was advised to keep him tied to me with a leash when he wasn't crated, it really helped us because he couldn't sneak off to go potty. We have never tried training our dogs to use the bell, but I think it is a great idea. We have found that after our dogs really got the hang of going outside, they just came up with their own signal to tell us. Sidda sits at the door and stares at you. Henry sits right in front of you and whines.
