We appreciate expert advice from you all.

I love to be in a community where everyone is prepared to give a little care and love in return of abundant love, affection, concern and care from our babies.

(Pl do not mistake ‘we’, my daughter and wife also love and care for Cookie as much as I do).

We noticed as a baby of 2 months, she used to go keep her head on marble door sill. We bought a marble slab 3’ x 3’ at that time; put a cotton quilt over that. She loves to lie down on that. All rooms have ceiling fans going at full speed, but that has not helped her much..

Yesterday and to-day she is in a AC room. She finds a spot with maximum airflow to sleep. I am giving her a sponge bath twice a day. We are putting water on marble, which retains moisture and stays cool all day long.

I have checked soothsoft, I think it will be a portable version of our marble solution worth trying. Thanks for the link.

You can find a cheaper version of the soothsoft on the Drs. Foster and Smith website. I have looked into getting one for Roscoe, but just havent done it yet.

Thanks

I just tried to place an order, looks like they do not except orders from outside US. There is no choice for country selection. I will send an email and inquire.

I tried to place an order for 24" x 36". Is this size OK?
Cookie is 22" high at the withers now.

I am sure that would be fine. As long as it cool the majority of her body (mainly her stomach and her chest), I think it would be fine.

Thanks for a quick reply.

I have sent an email. I hope they ship to India.

I hope that you get your delivery, it looks very worth while.
When Lisa gets to hot she spreeds herself on the marble floors, I really do not know how she can manage to make so much of her body touch the floor at once.
We will also put a small paddling pool on the terrace where she can cool herself off, but not until August when it gets tooooooo hot.

Yes that size should be fine. As long as the majority of her body is on it, it should be ok. Lukey lays mostly on his and his legs hang over when he stretches out:)

I sure hope you can find someone to ship it to you. We found ours in a pet store here in Vancouver. If they can't ship it to you, perhaps they can tell you who carries them in your area.

Someone once recommended getting a small kiddie pool and put it in the shade in your backyard with cold water in it. I was gonna get one too, but Luke hates the water!

In addition to the mat inside the house, you may want to consider a cooling bandana when she has to go outside. I saw one at Petsmart made by Outward Hound. You soak the bandana in water and then put it in the fridge. It velcroes on the dog and is made of special material that appears to keep it cool.

Thanks for suggesting cooling bandana. I will try to get one.

I have asked a friend coming from US to get me SoothSoft Cooler Mat We should be getting it by Wednesday..

Meanwhile, temp has come down by 2 deg C. Rains have started.

Good news is dear Cookie is doing well. All the rashes and pimples have disappeared, after I started giving her a damp cloth rub twice a day and keeping her most of the time is AC room. (Night and afternoon)
