We haven't been TOO bad here. Today will be pretty hot for what the norm has been lately- 91 today. Not nearly as bad as 100. Zoe likes to push herself, and really does not know her limits. We really have to watch her and pace her ourselves.

My fiancé really hates the heat though, so if he isn't comfortable outside, she's not going out to play! If it's reasonable out though, she loves any opportunity to take a dip in her kiddie pool!

Ugh... 106 on Monday, 104 yesterday and today - Poor Daisy. I know she wants to go run around the yard so badly, and she doesn't understand why I keep playing with her INDOORS only! On Monday my car was so hot that I was worried about taking her 4 miles from the house to her nosework class!

On the bright side, we haven't hit the heat of the day yet... So I think I'll go spray Daisy with the hose! :)

We are in Missouri and high 90's and 100's for the week -- thankful for indoor doggie day care for my young boy. My old girl will only go out to potty - just too hot for her. Like the suggestion of pool - might try that for weekend when daycare is closed.

How do you know when to stop? Max is not used to this kind of hot here, I mean from where we came from it is not that hot and for sure not that humid and it's usually cools down in the evening. I usually take him for a 45/60 min walk around 7, 7:30 pm and sometimes he is panting really heavy but he tends to exaggerated things and if I ask him to stop he will, my worried is how to know that he is not exaggerating things and he is really suffering from the hot.

I don't keep Toby out any longer than 30 mins. at a time if he even wants to stay that long, that is when the temp and humidity is really bad. I just don't want to take any chances on him being over heated. If they are panting really hard, trust me they are not over exaggerating, it's time to go in an cool off :)

Other than a pool or sprinkler, does anyone have any other ideas of how to exercise your boxers in this heat. I'm in Florida and it is has been high 80s to 90s for almost 2 months. Even at 6 am, it is usually high 70s, and tonight at 10 pm, it is 82 degrees (but feels like 87 degrees). Normally, in Atlanta when the sun wasn't out. I could run the dogs, but in Florida it is a different type of heat. Even in 70s, it is hot, muggy, and stuffy. A five minute walk will have you sweating (and I'm physically fit). Any suggestions are welcomed.
