Hot weather reactions

I don't know if you know about Texas weather but it is HOT! Anywho, I was wondering if your babies have any reactions to hot weather. My two will not poop when it is really hot, only pee, when we are coming from inside. They will just lay in the grass. Then I took them to the dog park one morning before it got too hot, but it eventually did get hot so we left. When they poo'd after the park, it was very runny. They also tend to sleep all day and I mean I will be in the house with them and they will sleep from 12 to 6.

Is this normal? What do your babies do in the heat?

sounds all normal to me - Bradlee is the same way
Hot is lazy bones. but it is also funny b/c once she cools off (if we have the ac cranked) she will bounce back to life.

I doubt Connecticut gets as hot as Texas but we do get in the 90's with high humidy (we are gearing up for a heatwave starting today..fun fun). Anyway, my Blizzy would reduce her food intake way way down, she'd sleep more, play less.

The pups are also displaying those signs. Less food..way more water, less play, more sleep, and poo for one is not as much but the other has just as much as when its cooler but his is runny.

Very common w/the heat. Just like us, who wants to be running around eating heavy meals etc when its 2000 degrees

Ali has been lying around a lot lately with the heat. She looks to go out on the patio every morning and I put her bed out there for her in a shady spot and she lies there all day with her little buddy Bailey. Today however it's back to rain and damp weather. Can't wait for the sun to come back.

My boys lay around all day and at night act like crazies! Last night I found myself in my backyard from 12:00 - !:00 am playing fetch to wear them out so we could all sleep! If they do brave the heat and go outside to play they come in a few minutes later with their tongues a mile long and lay on the cool tile and look like they're dead!

This is Apollo's third summer and every year he reacts the same; very lazy, tongue hanging down to the floor and panting ALOT!! Bailey is starting to behave the same. If he's not careful he'll be eating dirt all summer since his tongue is so long!

We're from Houston. Yes it is hot here!!!!!! Cisco and Leila stay inside in the AC all day. One day I let Cisco out to run for a few minutes in the back yard. After a good 15 minutes outside he ran back into the house, huffing and puffing, and then collasped! Scared me to death!!! He would not get up, he was dazed. He finally got up, after 5 minutes, very slowly. I think it was the heat. It was too hot and he was running. Now I only let them play in the evening time outside when it is cooler.

Cisco refuses and I mean REFUSE to set foot on ground if the grass is wet. I have to set newspapers in the garage for him to to pee and poop. If I don't set paper down for him in the garage, he will hold it all day long - he does not like rainy days.

Heat in New Mexico is in the 100+. Does not get into the 80's til 10 or 11 at night. Jocelyn likes to go out then and chase a red laser light (part of a pen).
She will start to bark around 11 or so to go out and burn with the light. Good exercise for her but not me. All day long she just lays on the tile.

I know just what you're saying. I live in Wichita Falls and the heat is getting brutal. Poor ABBY doesn't do much when it's hot like this. She does good just to go out and potty. She'll try and remain outside in the shade, but as soon as that's gone it's right back inside the house, where she'll either spawl out on kitchen floors linoleum or lay down in front of the fan in the living room.
