Homeopathic remedy

I was wondering if anyone has successfully used a homeopathic remedy on their dogs. Lacy has a wart-like growth on her leg. The vet did a needle aspiration, looked at the cells and said to just keep an eye on it. However, it's just one of those things that drives me crazy to see. I was reading in Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health about using the homeopathic remedy Thuja for warts. I really don't know much about homeopathic remedies, but I went to some websites listed in Dr. Pitcairn's book and purchased Thuja Occidentalis, 30C. The remedy looks like little salt pellets. I didn't see anywhere to specify the size of pellet, so I'm assuming the pellet is a standard size. The book suggests crushing three pellets to a powder and placing on the tongue. The schedule you follow is this one-time treatment, waiting a month, and if no improvement is seen, choose a new medicine. I plan on giving her the remedy this weekend, but maybe sooner. I guess I'm just looking for reassurances that I won't be doing her any harm by giving her this remedy. I'm always nervous about new things, and was hoping to get some success stories before I go forward. Thanks guys!

Our vet recommended giving Lexi thuja for her vaccine reactions. Where did you purchase it from? Lexi also has little wart like things on her inner thighs, very small. The vet said that the thuja could also make them fall off as well. I haven't tried it but would be interested in hearing more about it. My vet did say that 30c is the standard dose

I purchased it on-line from Hahnemann Laboratories in California. I bought 1/2 dram (it's a pretty small vial, but you don't use much) for $9.95. Their shipping was steep - $8.00, but after I invested a bunch of time trying to figure out what I wanted, I wasn't going to cancel the order because of the shipping charges!

Homeopathic medicines are relatively safe except caution must be used during pregnancy.
That said I have used many remedies on my pregnant bitches with very pleasing results.
The basis of homeopathy is that the animal is given the oportunity to help heal itself, by treating it with a low dose of something that mimics the proplem, in most cases.
An animal living in the wilds will often seek out plants that do just this, enabling the animal to eventually get better.

Homeopathy is not for the impatiant.
It is gentle and works with the dogs own bodily functions.
Dont expect overnight miracles.
Patience and persaverence are the norm for most homeopathic remedies.
If the remedy is incorrect for that animal the worst that will happen is nothing.
Often when the remedy is correct the animal may appear to get marginally worse before he gets better.
This seems to be the way of homeopathy.
It is a fascinating field and needs to be studied carefully or used under specialist guidence.

Desi just received his first homeopathic RX today! The vet sent home with us three tiny pellets in an envelope. I soaked them in water and then put them on Desi's gum.
Since they sent them home instead of doing them there, I guess they don't need to sit on the gum long because Desi was wanting to lick and swallow it!
We received sulfur for detox.

I have been having a lot of trouble with one of my rescues (Tony) for months and months. This includes chronic itchiness, anxiety, fear aggression. It peaked a few weeks ago with large patches of hairloss (no mange or abnormalities in the blood) and raw/bleeding sores (self-inflicted). I took him to a homeopathic vet who talked to us for 1.5 hours and took a full case history. It was refreshing as I have been to five other vets (conventional) about this problem. The homeopathic vet was the first one that actually attempted to get to the source of the problem rather than treat only the symptoms. We are going to try Belladonna remedy - one dose and wait three weeks. We are starting on Wednesday. After 2 years of getting NO WHERE with conventional medicine I am willing to try anything to help. My understanding is that the remedies are not harmful for the dog. At worst it will not be the correct remedy and we'll have to try another. I've heard from several people that have had great success with Thuja for helping heal vaccine damage. Best of luck and keep us posted!

Well today is the one month mark since I gave the Thuja. I don't really see any difference in the wart. I am trying to decide whether to give another dose of the Thuja or try something else. I was hoping this treatment would work, but in the back of my mind I felt it wasn't going to do anything :( Maybe my negative vibes affected the treatment.
