Boxer Pal
Bojer is 14 months now. We crated him until he was eight months. Due to numerous complaints from our neighbors and major separation aniexty, we were forced to go from straight crate to free roam of the house. Our apartment has basically gone through it all; chewing on the walls, scratching the couch, destroying the carpet and pretty much anything in eye sight. He has been pretty good about not going in the house but as of recent we have noticed that he is peeing behind the couch and possibly easting his poop to hide it from us. My Finacee and I are discussing options. Doggie day care, back to the crate, getting another dog (which we really don't want to do). What should we do?

I totally know how you feel!! Only I have another dog and it doesn't help. Punk is 6 months old though. We crated Punk also, but then he started messing in the crate because he knew Casey (my other dog) was downstairs in the basement. So my boyfriend and I allow him to be downstairs now.... Well today I come home from work and he has been apparently climbing ontop of my washer. So today I found a brand new box of dryer sheets shredded! I have to think over this weekend what I will be doing from now on... Have any ideas? Haha!

although the addition of another dog would help keep your present dog company, i would make another addition to your family until you have at least completely potty trained your present dog and stopped some of his behavioral problems. otherwise, you would then have two dogs tearing up your home. some of the questions that might help in determining the root of the behavior he is exhibiting are:
has he been to any obedience classes?
how long was he crated for per day?
is he given sufficient exercise daily?
