Completely Boxer Crazy
I am glad the above member suggested that you do a Boxerworld search on hives.
Hives seem to be common in the world of boxers.
Delilah ate ants one time and she didn't break out in hives until 24-48 hours later. She looked awful, swollen, lumpy, but after a trip to the vet, and his recommendation for Benadryl, she got much better. I was surprised; however, that those hives of hers came back, off and on, for 2 weeks.
Another common thread with boxers, not all of them, seems to be that they like to eat anything! My vet, whom has a dry sense of humor, states that our Samson is a "garbage eater." This doesn't mean that he eats garbage, this means that he will eat what interests him, and that he might suffer from it later (hives). For this reason, I closely monitor what those pups get into.
