Benedryl works for my boys..when things happen.
Try half of 5mg at that weight.
It will make him thirsty and sleepy!

1 mg/lb should do it. Either 40 mg of liquid or 50 mg of tablets would be the appropriate dose. Is there an emergency vet you can contact?

are you sure its not acne boxers are prone to this condition around their muzzle. my samantha breaks out once in a while we do have a cream that our vet gave us but most of the time she just licks it off, so we just leave it alone and it does go away.

Hope he's feeling better today!

We had the same problem last night with Otis and after remembering about a few posts about hives and benadryl and searching for the dosage...I ended up giving him 2 pills (50 mg). Otis is about 70 lbs and 13 months old. THat did the trick and he's been fine so far.
