Raw?

What do you mean, "Switch to raw feed?" No comprende.

I'll research some foods I suppose, had no idea that Boxer 26 was bad, that probably didn't help switching her to that from the Iams.

Thanks...

Raw food is what she means ;) Ditch the kibble entirely and feed a natural raw diet instead. LOL - what we all did before kibble was invented (and that's not as long ago as you might think ;)) and many of us still do. If you're interested in that, there is an entire forum here devoted to it (the Barf forum).

Be careful of the Boxer 26 Formula....

"I'll try this for a couple of days and then go with that petco specialized formula for boxer's I guess. Boxer 26, anyone try that before? I've had her on it before but it's really pricey. I dunno, I just feel like I get hosed everytime I take her to the vet and then I have the same problem again. Just fix it already, it's not rocket science it's an allergy!"

My Dak had severe bouts with hives which lasted several days even with the Benedryl. I researched the ingredients in the Boxer 26 and found there to be several obvious allergens in the formulation so I took him off of it and switched to "Canidae". He has now been allergy free for three months...no hives and no gastric upsets or cramps. There are several good kibbled products out there and I definitely would consider a switch in foods.

i have a white boxer that has very bad allergies. she chews her paws and gets hives that look like welts. her ears even smell bad from time to time. ive spent well over 3,000 trying to find out what was wrong whith her. it turns out she is allergic to every thing. grains, rice and grass, pet dander are the worst. we have been feeding her innova evo (a non grain dog food) and she is now in her 5th week of allergy shots. she is doing much better but the vet said it could take up to a year to see all the benifits.

Hey! Hopefully by now the hives are going down but if your dog is anything like mine...probably not! SHe's only had hives 3 times and each time it was right after she got her vaccinations. so now she gets Benadryl with her vaccines and no LEPTO. She chews her feet a lot now that we live in a more rural environment or it could be the new carpet. It's funny how they react so quickly to things that we would never really consider.

I recently took her off IAMS and even in 2 weeks she is like a different dog! She has more energy and looks much more healthy. Her chewing has lessened but is still there I think b/c of the pollen.

I researched all of the food on the sticky feeding forum and decided I'd put Sash on the Chicken Soup food. She loves it. We eat rice for dinner almost every night and she gets some of that as well as veggies with her dinner. That's the only raw that I have time to deal with but hopefully that helps her a little bit!

I am very intertested in the "Boxer 26". I have never heard of that. I'm really wondering if that is a good thing????

You can look it up on line. When I was researching food I thought it was really high in protein which I had been advised against. It didn't look like it was all that good compared to others I found. I have a hard time believing that people make a dog that is suited for one type of dog....
