High calcium level in blood!!!

Last week, my boy Tyson had a horrible stomach problem. I took him to the vet and he advised me to give him Pepcid. They did a blood test and it showed that his calcium level is high. From then on, he has been consuming massive amounts of water and peeing every 2 hours. Can this happen all of a sudden? Tyson is 4 and the vet suggest that we do a Cushings disease test. I feel that he is too young for Cushings and this problem came out of no where. Any suggestions on what I should do? I don't know if i can handle all this excessive water consumption and frequent urination! HELP!

how were is kidney values? if they were fine did thet run an ionized ca level?

They said his kidney values were normal. i dont believe they ran a test for the ionized cal level. I did do the cushings test and it came back negative. they think he might have diabetes insipidus and they want to do a water deprivation test. Do you any of you guys have any input in this?? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

you may want to look into parathyroid level test also, i'm just throwing some ideas around hope everything goes well

They did they water deprivation test and diagnosed him with diabetes insipidus ;[. they put him on desmopressin on monday but ever since then he hasn't been eating! Then this morning his stool became orange! i'm worried. i called the vet and they said it could be the medication or its his liver. I'm going in to pick up the can food they suggested that might bring his appetite back up and supplements for his liver. i hope everything goes well!

help!

I'm so torn and confused as to what is going on with Tyson. He has been eating a bit but he's having trouble walking. Its been hard for him to walk up and down the stairs. It looks like he is learning how to walk. Has anyone had experience with this?
