Welcome to Boxerworld

Welcom to Boxerworld, you'll find alot of information here.
In regards to "what to expect" you might want to try this link to a thread called "Boxer Traits" this pretty much sums up our boxers.
Boxer Traits

I live in the Detroit Area and I paid $450.00 for Maya, this is pretty much the going rate here. I may be wrong but I am pretty sure that when breeding in diferent countries, they have different standards than the USA has; and therefore they breed accordingly.

Congratulation on your new boxer..... fiesta1ico

I lived in NYC when I got Maggie. Boxers were going for anywhere from $250 (back yard breeders) to $2,500 for show quality boxers in the year 2000, when I got Maggie. The general (average) price for a quality bred pet boxer was about $800.

Check out all the forum sections, especially the puppy section ( http://www.boxerworld.com/puppy/ ) and you'll find about every question you may have about boxers and raising them have been discussed. There are many many very knowledgeable and experienced boxer owners here so, don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't find your answers using the search feature here.

Good luck and Welcome to Boxerworld.

Hi there and welcome! I paid $850.00 for my Molly in Arizona and I thought that was more than fair. My Am Staff was $1100.00 and I got him in Philadelphia. They are both worth every cent and I would have happily paid more. I think you got a VERY good price unless your pup is from a BYB.

Hello and welcome :)

Congrats on your new pup! Others gave you excellent links to info about boxer pups. And you are welcome to come and ask any question you may have while rising your pup. By the way, what's his name?
Anyway, looking forward to reading more stories about him ;)

Well I too am new to BW. Welcome, I seem to like it here. I think that as long as you are happy with your new pup the price is no issue. You have already put the money out so make the best of it. I paid only $250 for ours (friends of the family). Both parents are show dogs with LOTS of awards. I do not plan to use Sasha as a show dog( I wouldn't even know where to start ) I have seen Boxers in the post around my area as high as $2200 a pup. I guess if your going to show him/her then you need to look for certain things. But if this is going to just be a good ole house dog then you got yourself a new best friend. I've had 3 boxers and I love the breed. Expect to become a slave to your new pup, just like bringing home a new baby........they need a lot of attention and pampering(my personal opinion) but be sure to let him know whos the real boss, though you'll soon find out that regardless who puts the food down....boxers will always get the last "woof" I do think that as with any pet you need to have a lot of patience especially with a boxer, sometimes their playfullness gets in the way of learning good and bad. Good Luck! You got the best breed:)
