What's in a Name?
Everyone has there own way of choosing a name for their boxer. We chose Xena-Warrior Princess because it seemed dignified enough for the breed. Also, I heard someone else call their yellow lab that name and really found it to be such a great dog name that I just had to name our new boxer puppy Xena. (Even though after we brought her home my husband said that a better fitting name would have been Gator since when we first brought her home all she did was jump up, bite our sleeves and hang on without letting go). Something will fit your new boxer boy.

Hi and welcome to BW, Picking a name should be fun, not stressful. Pick a mane that you like and suits him, not others. Besides who cares what anyone else thinks of your fur baby, he's yours.......right. Good luck to you on the name picking and hope you have fun and learn alot of great tips, as I have on BW.

I wanted to thank everyone who helped with the name decision. I have decided to go with ROCCO and can call him "Rock" for short.
Anyway, Rocco begins his journey to my home tonight. He should be he on Wed. night...I did not think I would be as excited as I am. I can't wait to beging spoiling him like crazy. Does anyone know how to post pictures on this forum?? I want to post them for everyone after his arrival....WISH ME LUCK, this seems like its going the be the longest 3 1/2 days of my life.

Greg, So glad to see you are tha pumped about your new puppy. I did the same thing when it came to naming my boy as faras a lot of research. I know its a common name, but I ended up with Beau, which is a translation to "beautiful."
My boys AKC name is "Papas Beausolei" meaning "Papas Beautiful Son." All of your choices sound good that I read, but thought I would chime in and sugest a name with meaning, at least to me. Whatever you choose I hope you get as much satisfaction in your choice of a kid as the rest of us have.
By the way who ared you getting your boy from in Arkansas? My girl Stella comes from a breeder in Arkansas. The guys name is Tom Victory, and calls his website, "victory boxers." I know my Stellas momma "Belle" came from a lady named Shelia Holmes, and her daddy was named "Headhunter" who came from Tom Victory.
Get prepared for the best friend you ever had, and don't be surprised if one Boxer leads to two Boxers.

As for the name, thanks for the suggestions. I did research, and although ROCCO is a very common name, it does have a meaning. Rocco, in the English language actually means-- Strong.
And lastly, I cannot, as I have said before, wait for my new pal to get here...HE'S ON HIS WAY!!!!
