Hi from Pennsylvania,

I'm 26, years old and have been searching for the perfect pup for quite a while now. I came across a Breeder in Arkansas whom was abosolutly great. She not only got me in touch with my "new boy", she is going to hand deliver him to me on March 23/24. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I fell in love with the boxer breed and new I would not settle until finding the "perfect" puppy for me.

As for the forum...I have been reading many entries over the past two months and have received some great information from here. Last night as I was doing my PRE-SPOILING for the arrival of my unnamed puppy, I finally decided to join as I too will be a member of what is turning out to be a GREAT group of people..."The BOXER People"...LOL

Lastly, I'm not sure what to do, and as in many other entries I have to ask for some help. As I said, my Puppy will arrive in just about a week, and I am completely stuck on what to name him. It seem that every name I come up with, someone doesn't like it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to name my new boy, and should I keep changing the name I come up with to make my friends/family happy???

I think I could go on forever, but i will stop here. Thank you all for inviting me into your group/forum and I truely hope I will be as happy with my puppy as some of you sound.

Greg from Philadelphia, PA.

Welcome! Choose a name that you like, he is your puppy after all. What are some names you are thinking of? We could try to help you out a little bit. When we got our boy we had thought of Bo, Edison, Cubby, Apollo, Winston and Chewy. We ended up with Grady though. Hope this helps.

Names I'm Thinking Of...

Thanks for your reply...I have come up with just a few...SIDNEY, MACKENZIE (Mack for short), and SAGE. I love all of the names, but am also looking for a name that has meaning behind it. I actually came up with Sidney in honor of my grand-pop which gives that name a special meaning to me...The problem is, if and when I decide to bring some "skin kids" into this world, I lose that name. Any suggestions

Finding a Name

Finding a name is the fun part. This may sound sad, but I have an Excel spreadsheet with about 40 names I have come across. To name a few, Apollo, Tank, Sarge, etc. Have fun and good luck!

2000 names

Thanks Cathy for the site...I will go on it and let you know what I finally come up with. I am leaning toward Mackenzie (DOES ANYONE THINK THIS IS MORE OF A GIRLS NAME?) but am still unsure. I'm going to check that out and will update everyone on my final decision. I will also attempt to put a picture of my "BOXER BOY" (as my family has been calling him) if i can figure out how to...LOL

Thanks
Greg

It's so funny, I always do exactly the same thing. I already have two cats which I have given my favourite boys names and now when I have skin-babies I will have to think all over again. We are getting a boxer in ten weeks time and we are calling him Jakey...not unusual or particularly special but just seemed full of fun like the boxer temperment!

Good luck with finding a name.

Hi Greg. Good luck with the new addition. I would suggest waiting to get your puppy and see what personality matches. I went through all of the web sites, had a big long list and listened to all of the friendly suggestions but when I got my two home, the names just seemed to find themselves. Everyone was suggesting cutesy names like Bill and Hillary, Fred and Wilma and Will and Grace which I am so glad I stayed away from. I wound up with Max for the male (not real original but very fitting) and Megan for the female (which I got from a website meaning strong beautiful woman in Gaelic). Since then they have gotten multiple nicknames. Today they are Doctor Mo and Nurse Meggy since I am home sick and they are taking care of me. Good luck and have fun!
