Hi! My name is Elizabeth and I am from Charlotte, NC. We were on vacation (with her) when our 3 year old female boxer took off towards someone playing ball and realized she was near the beach and tried to get there....she entered the Rainbow Bridge on July 4, 2001. Our vacation ended in tragedy and I have been on a horrible depression. We rescued Xena 9 months earlier and she had become like my child. Losing her tore me apart. Soooo last Friday we found a local breeder and purchased a new fawn female who just turned 13 weeks old...she is already spoiled and does my favorite "kidney bean" dance when I call her name. It's been a lot of help having a new one so soon to give off that "smell" and lick me when I need some boxer loving. I look forward to meeting everyone anc can't wait to hear about your own boxer babies :)

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Lexi slipped her collar not that long ago and took off after another dog. It scared me to death. I am very cautious now that her collar is on tight enough. I would be lost without her. Congratulations on your new addition.

Hi Elizabeth,

((((((((hugs)))))))))) I am so sorry about Xena. When my Cindy died I couldn't bear the empty arms either. We got Jasper just two weeks later.

Sabrina won't replace your girl but I can see by your post, (and that face :) ) that she will ease the loss for you, as Jasper did for us. Nothing can bring a smile like a boxer puppy can.

That is sooooo sad!

Elizabeth,

There is no grief like it. Only those of us who have been through it understand but noone can understand exactly what YOU feel. I hope you find comfort in knowing that the two of you will meet again.

You have done a service today by reminding us all that our boxers are just like children, not truly understanding the dangers out there; we have to be aware of their every move and, knowing what escape artists they can be, it could happen anytime to any of us.

I, too, have a new puppy. We are having lots of fund together and it does ease the pain. Those floppy ears coming to greet me when I call him, send me into another world.

Have fun and we want stories!
