Completely Boxer Crazy
Hey everyone! We just wanted to introduce ourselves and tell everyone how much this site has helped us. We recently adopted a Boxer girl (Greta) from a shelter and we could not be more happier! She is everything we expected her to be and more! I've personally wanted a Boxer for as long as I can remember...but the hubby has always been a Lab man. Well, our 11 year old Chocolate lab passed away and we were heartbroken. When we finally decided to start the search for a new doggie I knew that a shelter or resuce was the way I wanted to go. There are so many dogs that need a loving home and we had one to offer. We orginally started searching for a Lab...but I was secretly seaching for my boxer on the side (hehe). I came across many beautiful boxers and I really had no preference or brindle or fawn...they are all beautiful! But then one day...there she was. And I knew that she was the one who was meant to be ours. To make a long story short, my husband drove 4 1/2 hours to go pick up this beautiful baby and we all intend to live happliy ever after!! I can't get over how smart she is. Within the first week she had sit, down, and come down to a pat. She is 10 months old and her foster mom had already had her potty trained so we didn't even have to deal with that! She is absolutely perfect...has a little problem with gas...but I can deal with that! We heard her do the WooWoo just yesterday, and it was like music to our ears! Since Greta was found wandering in the woods we don't know her history...her tail is natural, I love the little nubs, but she is much too old to go through that now, and every once in a while the coffee table needs all the clutter cleaned off with a swipe of a happy tail! I'll get some pics posted as soon as I figure it all out!
