My husband and I have been owned by a variety of boxers--all rescues, for the past 8 years. We lost our eldest this past weekend and our hearts are broken. Honey was the only one (and the first) that we had from puppyhood, and she was and always will be the most special.
It was rather sudden (a fast growing tumor that was inoperable) so we are still in shock as well. A week ago she was (or seemed) just fine. Strange how life works though.
A month ago, we took on two boys, Prince (7yrs) and Duke(4yrs) who couldn't be separated and they have fit into our household nicely. Then two weeks ago, my husband found a beautiful young boxer girl on our rural road--no collar, no signs, no way to tell where she came from. We have run ads and put up signs, but no calls. Now I see the plan!
Anyway, I'm just grateful to have the love of these wonderful babies, and glad to have found this group.
Thanks, Jae

Welcome from a fellow Tarheel.
So sorry to hear of your loss.
It's very hard to lose one a furbaby that is one of the family.
You have come to the right place for lots of healing support.
God bless you for your rescue efforts!

Welcome

Hi Jae,

I too have just recently joined BW in February and am also in North Carolina. Just wanted to wish you a warm welcome! I'm so excited to find a forum such as this one. My fiance and I brought home our first boxer, a brindle we named Toby, back in September. We are learning so much about him everday and its such a delight. Take care!
