Hi! I saw your reply, you hit the wrong button and made a new thread. Hehe, happens.
All I was going to say is I had a dalmation before my daughter was born. My boxer pups are just as energetic as he was, and probly even more. If you are not not wanting another "baby" to look after, as you posted, I would not suggest getting a boxer pup, or realy any pup for that matter. They are a lot of work, and it realy is like I have three kids instead of one!
I think a rescue that is at least 2 yrs old would be perfect for your family. Boxers are such "kid" dogs, I think you and your family will be happy with one.
And you will be giving a rescue a forever home!lovicon
Good Luck in rescue!

I think a Boxer, pup or adult is going to be fine with your kids.

Although I don't have any kids of my own, my dog loves any kids that see comes in contact with, the only thing I would warn you about is that Boxers use thier paws alot when playing and could scratch your face or arms if your not careful.

Congratulations on your decision to rescue. Baxter, who is one of our rescues, just recently earned his canine good citizen and therapy dog certificates :) Rescues, contrary to many beliefs, are not all troubled misfits. Some were just unfortunant to get a bad start off in life. Please keep us posted and I am sure there will find you the "perfect" fit for your family!
