Hey from IL

Hi my name is Jessica and I am addicted to boxers...

sounded like a good way to start this..

Anyway my husband Brandon and i are in the process of purchasing a home in Gardner, IL. We close May 31st. We have 1 son, Darren.

And, one boxer, Harley. He is about 1.5 years old. His birthday is 8/27/03. He is my baby, i love him to death. He is the best, especially around Darren.

We are originally from WA. Right now we are living with my mom. Once we move into the new house and put up a fence, we will be getting another dog (harley will be depressed to move away from my moms dogs). Would love another boxer, but will probably adopt somebody who needs a home from the pound.

Would try rescue, but as we already have a dog and a young child, not sure that we are good candidates for that!

Welcome to boxerworld! Congrats on the new house and good luck finding another babie. You might want to try the rescues you never know it cant hurt to try. I know the greyhound rescue in Illinois will let you adopt with kids and another dog. Just some food for thought you might want to try. Well welcome hope to hear alot of stories of your babies.

Welcome to BW! If you are addicted to Boxers, you will be in good company here. LOL

I believe you should be able to adopt a Boxer through rescue, even though you already have one and a child. I think there are 1-2 great rescues in IL and they will work with you to find the right fit!

Hello,

My two babies are Precious and Layla. Precious is 2 years old (gonna be 3 this year) and Layla just turned 1 this year. I grew up with boxers and when my boyfriend ( now my husband) wanted to get me a dog and I had to have a boxer. She is loyal, a little energy ball, she sleeps with me when my husband is working nights and wakes me up with kisses. Layla we got last year to keep Precious company and because when I saw her I just thought she is so cute! Layla is something special, she has twice the energy of Precious, Layla dosen't walk she bounces, ... I love her. Then theres Chico, his a pitbull that my husband and I rescue. His a sweet heart and loves to play with Precious and Layla. He has turn from a shy pitbull to a energy ball. All of my babies are beatiful and wouldn't trade them for the world. I love boxers! but theres a place in my heart for animals that need a second chance.
