Hemangiosarcoma---HELP!

I have a question for any of you who have been through this cancer, did the doctors tell you specifically that they did or did not recommend chemo or did the just give you the options and tell you to decide?

Hi - I just want to say I am sorry you are going through this - I know how hard this is.....

My Oncologist and my vet specifically reccomended chemo for this type of cancer. Oscar has the exact same type of cancer as Cyrus has.
The oncologist told me that chemo was the best chance of stoping this type of cancer from spreading to his internal organs. We were told that since this type of cancer is very aggressive if we did not treat it before it spread that our chance of treating at a latter stage was not nearly as good or effective.

We are now half way through the 12 week chemo treatment and Oscar is doing great - very mild side effects.

I am sure all vets have different opinions and I do think my oncologist was being as agressive as possiable to treat this type of cancer, but I felt that going fordward with chemo now gives Oscar the best chance to beat this.
