At about 11:30 last night my boxer woke up kinda with a choking sound, I got her up and out to the kitchen to get some water she then proceeded to basically colapse and pee on the floor . She had no control over her back end.It took her a minute to walk to me then she laid on the floor. I waited after about 5 mins she got up left the room laid down again .Iwalked over to her put my hand onm her back and she had a blank stare she made a rumbling sound deep in her chest. I kept talking to her and you could see the recognition come back. We stayed up with her almost all night but thankfully it didn't happen again..After about 20 mins she started to play with our chocolate lab puppy.Any clue??

Besides having a Boxer, I also have a Beagle and she has done the same thing a couple of times. It's like she is not really even breathing and she can't move. I have asked my vet about it and he has just told me to keep track of when this happens and how long it goes on for. He had me watch some videos of dogs doing this and he thinks that it may be some sort of seizure. Good luck to you! I hope your baby is O.K.:confused:

Hi and Welcome to Boxer World!

Sounds like it could be a seizure. Years ago I had a poodle that would have them once in a while.
If in doubt take your baby to the vet and have her checked out.

I agree with everyone. It sounds exactly like a seizure. I would definitely take her into the vet. Unfortunately, if its an isolated incident they normally don't do anything. My dog has had several over the years. He is now 13 years old and still going strong so don't panic if that is what it is.

It sounds like it could have been a seizure. I would also wonder about a heart problem. Sometimes collasping is a sign of BCM. My parents dog collapsed 3 times, my mom thought it was a seizure but when I saw it happen the 3rd time I knew it wasn't. He got a wierd look in his eyes, got real wobbly and then his back legs went out and he collapsed. I would diffently make a trip to the vets and have her checked out just to be sure. I hope it was just a fluke and it never happens again to your little girl. Keep us posted.
