hey everyone! sorry i only post when we have a problem but its been a crazy few weeks! weve had ollie for almost 5 weeks now that makes him 10 weeks everythings been great with him but now my schedule has changed me and my wife both work afternoons (from 2-11) that leaves our little puppy home alone all night long neither of us can come home on our lunch breaks because our jobs are to far away. today was the first day with the new schedule we just left him home i didnt want to but him in his crate because 9 hours is to long for him, he hates being locked in it for more than an hour or two. anyway he tryed to tear up a blanket and pooped and peed everywhere, i dont know how were going to poddy train him with this new schedule. we do have an outside kennel and a fenced in yard but im kind of scared to leave him out side in the heat. any help would be great ..

That's a dilemma, alright. Do you have a friend, neighbor, or family member that could come to your house, and let him out to go pee while you're gone? Or maybe a few fellow dog-lovers who would be willing to have him at their house while you work?
Definitely don't leave him outside alone. The heat is one danger, and there are many others. Boxer pups get stolen, could get attacked by a neighbor's fence-jumping beast (like mine did), and too many other things could happen.
Can you confine him to a smaller room like a kitchen, a bathroom, or a laundry room? Not much you can do about the peeing and pooping thing, but it should become less as he gets older. Are you puppy-proofing thoroughly? I've found that the older they get, the more they find to get in to.

Your absolute best bet is to have someone (friend, family, neighbor, service) come over at least one time during the day for an hour of one on one.
I get flyers often for dog walking/pet sitting services. I dont know how much they charge, the flyers never say but I would guess somewhere around $15 per visit? I know this is an added expense but it would only be until your puppy is old enough to left that long on his own. It's also hard to trust someone with the keys to your house so just make sure the service is insured and bonded. Also, meet the person that will be coming over. In any event it's something to look into until you can find a permenant solution or someone you know that is willing to help out.

Not sure if this would work for you but here goes. Can you put in a doggie door and make a small enclosed area around your door so he can only go out so far into the yard. A couple of my friends have tried this and it worked for them. They put like a little fenced area inside the big fenced area,so the pup could not get too far away from the house but still can get outside to potty.
You're definately gonna need a puppy-sitter. It will be extremely difficult to potty train if he's allowed to go on the floor all day while you're away. And leaving him outside is a "no go." He could easily die of heat exhaustion, get stolen, get hurt, etc. He's just too little. When they are that young, they don't understand how to keep cool and how to otherwise stay out of trouble. If ou put him in a smaller room, be prepared to have the inside of your door ripped up. It never fails. And the damage just increases as your puppy gets bigger. Find a sitter!! You'll be so glad you did. I bet you can find someone nearby to help you out! Believe it or not, your problem is one of the #1 reasons I've seen boxers given away in my personal experience. Stick in there, you'll have less worries when he's older! Good luck!
