Hi ,

I would just like some advice on our two boxers please.

We have two fawn boxers age 10 months and 1 year. Lately they have started to turn on each other at first it was over food, if we gave the two of them treats and one finished first then it would be a fight as to who got the other one. But the other day they turned on each other for nothing, they were both in our front room and just started.
It is actually quite disturbing to witness this. They are such beautiful dogs and the fights are getting worse. I mean latching on to each other and not letting go and making each other bleed.

I would just like to know if anyone that has two boxers has ever come across this,.
It is going to have to come down to getting a new home for one of them and that will really very upsetting but we just dont know what else to do.
We cant let them do this to each other, we have both of them from 8 weeks old and its only the last 1 month that this is happening.

If anyone would have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
Nat

I really don't have any advice as I have had to get Baloo a new home when him and Tiger started fighting. Everyone says that obedience training might help, along with neutering.

Whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully it's just a stage or something and they get things resolved and go back to a happy home!! My thoughts are with you!!

Welcome to the forums...and I am so sorry to hear about your babies!

Please do a search on this issue...we have a resident behaivoralist who has worked with many people on the site to try and help them overcome things like this.

Many time it does take obediance...working on their specific issues...it is possible to fix...if you are willing to put in the time and effort it will most likely take.

If you have boys...and they are not neutered...there's the first place to start.

I hope you find the help you need!

I am going to have to agree with vaboxer. I am thinking that they are both boys because of there names. Male dogs will become more territorial and more concerned with pack status as they reach maturity. It sounds like there is a little too much testasterone in the home. If your not breeding them get them neutered. It will still take some time after the neutering for the "calming effect" to take place.

Hi again

Thanks for your advice, believe it or not they are male and female and use to get on like a house on fire.
It is literally just the last month that this has start happening.
I will try and find out more about it cos I dont want to see one of them going.

Thanks again
Nat
