Hello! I need some help here! My female boxer Lexi is now 7 months old. When we first got her from the breeder at 8 weeks she was eating IAMS puppy chow in which the breeder sent us home with. As days went by she quit eating it. We then thought it was just stress and getting used to us as well as a new habitat. We immediately went to our local Petsmart and seeked help. We purchased NUTRO Lamb and Rice Formula and wheened her off the IAMS over a 7 day period. Everything was going great. The stools were formed and she was very regular. I was then told that the food was not good so I switched to Nutro holistic and it made her have diarrhea and it was bad. I soon wheened her off that and went back to the Lamb and Rice. Ever since I did this she hasnt been right. She will eat it but the stools are very loose (diarrhea like) and not regular. I want to switch again and was thinking of TOTW High Prairie. Any suggestions???

We switched from Nutro to TOTW (Pacific Stream) and our two dogs are doing amazing. We switched over a year ago and have nothing but great poop. :) We tried the Bison forumula a while back and it made the stool soft but still not too bad, but have since switched back to Pacific Stream and not a problem. I think the Bison was just too rich. I would suggest that you do switch to a higher quality food than Nutro. And like before do it slowly, we did ours over 10 days. There are quite a few great high quality foods out there, but we have TOTW quite great quality and right for the price. Also make sure that you are not feeding too much as this can cause runny stool as well. Good luck! I am sure other will also post more info. :)

Thanks for the help. It seems like alot of people have nothing but good things to say about TOTW. I thought that way about Nutro until I really looked into it. Every dog will respond different to different foods and I understand that but I just want the loose poo to be gone. What is the main diff between the High Prairie vs Pacific Stream? Mainly just the protein content? I know the high prairie has more...

That is main difference I believe. I just looked at their website and the correct name is now High Praire and it has 32% protein and the Pacific Stream has 25%.

They also have Sierra Mountain - Lamb (which I might just try) - 25% protein and Wetlands which is also 32% protein. (I have not tried this one as one mine is allergic to ALL foul. :)

Good luck!
