HI Everybody! Let me start by saying that I have looked at posts and tried the search engine, but must be searching incorrectly! I need ideas, thoughts, opinions and advice for our new baby! Sophie Raya will be 8 weeks old on Wednesday. She has been getting into tons of stuff outside with that mouth of hers! We have been very vigilant, but I am sure that we have missed her actually ingesting some things. She also had a variety of "new" treats that my hubby's family tried feeding her on Saturday. I am totally against it, I want her to have healthy treats. But, she did have a few bites of things like burger treats and jerky treats.
I also have given her some cheese poofs for dogs, low fat low calorie, and recommended as a cheese treat substitute (maybe I am to blame???) and just a few. But she had a few of these all last week and we didn't have the horrendous gas then! We let her have a sow's ear at night time for a bit. She has started chewing a lot so we have introduced rawhide bones and cheese flavored nylabones. She loves cheese. I have used american cheese in very small quality to get her to try to like her crate. (It's not really working!!)
OK - so now last night we have the gas and BAD!!! I didn't know anything so horrid could come out of such a tiny baby!!! LOL~ Anyway, her stools were OK last night and earlier this morning. Then all of the sudden, just a bit ago, she has massive explosive diarreha.....lots of noise...scared her silly. She is eating and drinking, we have been slowly introducing her new food. We have had her since she was 6.5 weeks old, so a little over a week now. She has been doing great. She had shots and de-wormer a week ago today. She did have a reaction to the shots...she slept a lot for 2 days. Vet said next shots will be given one at a time.
Thanks so much for any advice. I know boxers have tummy issues, I just want some advice, I am a nervous wreck. She may have had a smidgen of a mushroom earlier this morning. They must have litteraly just popped up, as I search the yard everyday! Anyway, I looked them up and they are very common and not supossed to be toxic to dogs or humans. I am not acutally sure she ate any. PLEASE give me some advice........I would so very much appreciate it......she is still sooooooooo young. Maybe it's just that. I am sorry this is so long.....THANKS in ADVANCE.......Jami & Sophie
