Okay. I tried not crating my four month puppy at night because he is crated all day. But here is the kicker. He slept next to me until 2Pm but then he was up for two hours playing! Running through my house and barking! I could not even sleep!! So what am I supposed to do about that??? They are so funny but I have to get my sleep! Help!

Completely Boxer Crazy
Jasmine is crated during the day but has never been crated at night. I am lucky to say that she has never gotten into any trouble or had an accident. She always wakes me or hubby up to go potty. Why are you deciding to crate him at night? I think Jasmine is like her mom and dad and wants to get rest at night and not play. She does enough of that before bed time.
I don't want to crate him at night but
he was out of control running around and playing for hours last night in the middle of the night when I tried to do the no crate thing at night. I have to get rest. So i don't know what to do but crate him to keep him under control at 2 am.

Mason is also crated during the day but not at night He will wake me up if he needs to go potty. He will sleep next to me most nights, but sometimes will go to his bed which is near my bed. I used to keep his collar on (which jingles) so I could hear if he was up and about, but now I can trust him, we have quiet nights!

kaiser was not crated at night until he learned taht he could jump down from the bed (about 3 months) after that he was allowed to sleep with me until he woke up and started running around - and then he was crated for the rest of the night - it worked. he's learned that he can stay out of his crate at night as long as he doesn't wake me up! he's 14 months now and sleeps with me and his sister all night long

Brutus does the same thing. He is crated during the day and left out at night. after a few loud playful nights he learned to be quiet at night or he goes to the crate.
Now I will wake up in the middle of the night when I realize I actually have room on my bed to find him sitting on the floor or in his chair in the Living room playing with his toys.
After he gets tired again he crawls back in bed.
