Help with finding food for our puppy.....please!!!

I have read everything I can find on here about the best foods, as other sites. Unfortunatly where we live, we have nothing that sells the brands that I am reading about on here. The only place we have that carries pet food, is our local grocery store, and Walmart. The nearest pet store is seriously 3-4 hours away in Roanoke va...I am going Monday to find something. Just wondering if anyone on here uses any brands from Walmart....We have no credit or debit cards so I cant order food through the mail. Nor do I have time now, as we are supposed to bring our baby girl home on Thursday. Any suggestions would be great. I plan of course on getting an adult food (dry), or an all life stages......thanks..

I don't have any suggestions from Wal-Mart. But just be careful as there are a bunch of dog food recalls going on right now, Wal-Mart (their own brands and quite a few others). If you haven't already, go to the Nutrition Forums under the Feeding section to check out the thread. There's a lot of useful information posted! Good Luck :)

I wouldn't buy any kibble from Walmart - Sorry. ;) What is your pup being fed right now? It's best to keep them on the same food for a few weeks after bringing them home.

Thanks guys....I asked last time I went to see her and the breeder said that shes on puppy kibble, thats all he said. Ill ask again thursday when we go to get her. Maybe theres a place where he lives that sells something good. Our Walmart carries Eukanuba, Iams, and Purina Proplan, which is the one I was considering. I read the info on here about how to choose the best dry food. I even wrote down all the things that is good and isnt. So when Im looking I can find the best possible.....Thanks for your responses.....Does anyone here use any of the 3 brands I previously stated????

Do you possibly have a Feed Store close to where you live? I have one really close to my house and that's where I get Ronin's food. Everytime I rotate foods, they can order it for me if their supplier carries it. Ever since I've started ordering these brands of food, they now permanently stock Canidae, Wellness, Merrick, Solid Gold and Innova Evo. :)

Yes we have a feed store, Ill try there in the morning before I go anywhere else. If they dont have anything maybe they could order it for me. All I have ever heard of the farmstore ( our feed store) having is Bluebarn dog food. Which I cant even find any info on online! Thanks!! Ill try there. Wish me luck people!! Ive got to find something that will be the best for our girl! ;-)

It's definitley worth a try. :) My feed store never carried any of those foods before I started asking for them. Now they can't keep them on the shelves as other people are buying them now too!
