Help - I don't know what to do. I think this is a behavior issue since I have brought Mason to the vet and they have run the gammet of tests and found nothing physically wrong with him!

Mason is nine and has been having accidents in the house. So, a few months ago I hired a dog walker to let him out in the middle of the day. (This is after the vet ruled out anything medically wrong with him.) I figured he is just getting older and just could hold it all day. An average day is 6-8 hours depending on the day.

At first the dog walker seemed to work. He has had two accidents in the past two days and both times we were not gone long. Both times, he has peed prior to our leaving. We have also noticed that if we take Penny out without him, he pees in the house - every time. I have literally taken Mason out and he has peed, then taken Penny and been back within 20-30 minutes and he has peed in the house.

He just had his "physical" and the vet ruled him in great health. Still no ideas on his peeing other than behavioral. I don't know if I should crate him again but then feel like if he has to pee than it is mean.

Sorry to be so long but I do not know what else to do! Does anyone have any experience with this? Or, possibly any medical issue the vet may not have checked for?

I would really love to be able to explain this, but my youngest Boxer Duke who isn't even a year old yet as also started this.

We have a huge backyard for him to run around on and do his business. And it seems he can do it outside, and come right back in and make a mess.

Sometimes I wonder if it's just because we have three other dogs in the house and he's trying to mark his territory, but it hasn't slowed down one bit. And unless he's outside every hour, on the hour he STILL makes messes.

Has Mason been checked for a urinary infection? There are meds for incontinence, and as dogs get older, this can be an issue.

I just wrote a similar thread on here then I saw yours. Some of my thread may help you. I have been dealing with this for a year or so now. My boy is 7 and I know he started this cause of our boxer pup we got almost three years ago. You and I may have a problem with separation anxiety. How to fix it....I don't know yet. Hopefully we both can get a solution. But i'm almost positive it's anxiety, but lts see what help we can get on here.
