Hi. I have a four week old, he has been bottle fed for two weeks now. i've been using Esbilac milk replacer, I went to use the next step, and it seems to be bothering his belly, after he eats it he throws it back up. So i tried going back to the milk and now he dosn't want to eat. I also tried mixing the two and he is still getting sick. Any help would be greatfully appreciated, Sue.

Poor baby. I would definitely take him to the vet so they can check to make sure he does not have a serious illness. I understand that you can't put him back with his mother since he was abandoned and you are trying to do the best you can and I think that is great. I would get him in to the vet ASAP though, not trying to scare you, but he could have something like parvo, being that young and vulnerable and who knows what kind of environment he came from. A lot of illnesses (like parvo) have incubation periods of up to a couple weeks so they don't show sypmtoms until later on. Even if he is not sick with something like that it would be best to have him under the care of a vet immediately just so they can help and advise you on the best nutrition for him. Best of luck! Please keep us updated!!!!

Hi Sue, My breeder uses goat's milk. Her last litter was 10 puppies and mom just didn't have enough milk to feed all the little piggies! Goat's milk is high in fat and very good for him. Also, it's easier on the belly as most boxer (dogs in general) are lactose intolerant. Give it a try and let us know how baby Zak is doing!
