Help prayers needed.........

Molly Ann is now breathing on her own....

Hi I have just spoken with Andrea , Molly Ann is now breathing on her own.....and they have moved her out of Intensive Care....... They showed Andrea the top of Molly's Mouth today.....Andrea said it looked awful....just a gaping hole...... tomorrow when Andrea hopefully is feeling better.... she may be moved int a mother and baby room.........where she can care for Little Molly Ann and learn more about feeding her..... Andrea might be allowed home on Saturday.....not so sure when Molly Ann will be allowed home, at the moment she is still being fed via a tube. I will try and post a photo of Molly Ann on my/ rather Gintys web site....

I am sorry you have to go through this but I can tell you things will get better. My niece had a baby when she was 16 and he was a cleft palate baby. He is now 6 years old and has had 1 surgery already (when he was a baby) and another they say in a year or so. The only thing different about him is that he had a very thin covering over the inside of his palate. But, he still had problems nursing. She had to cup feed him and keep him upright for an hour after eating so he didn't spit it up and choke on it. BTW: They told my niece that he would possibly have hearing problems too, but thank goodness the only thing he needed was tubes in his ears since his eustation tubes wouldn't drain properly. If you like I could PM you and tell you more about the surgery but I have to tell you it sounds bad but my great-nephew flew through it and within 1 week was back to eating normally again. I will keep you and your family in my prayers, let me know if you want more information. I am not sure how things are done where you live but I could probably give you an idea.

Hi Jaimie Thank you so much for your information...I would be pleased if you could tell me more about the surgery....I really feel as if I must find out as much information as possible....I wouldnt tell my daughter if I thought it was too gruesome.....but at least I will have some idea what the poor baby has to go through....and will be there for them when it happens.... I will find out more on Thursday....when a specialist is going to see them. So glad to hear your great nephew is Ok....

Pam---I just read your post.........I know you are hurting and very worried but keep your hopes up. Modern medicine is incredible and we have no idea what miracles it can do. We all will pray for Molly Ann and send her strong positive vibes. Already Jamie has posted encouraging words and I am sure you will get more such encouraging thoughts. sending all my best wishes to Andy and Maureen.

Update............

Life is just awful at the moment............. I have cried and cried an ocean.......... I dont think I can cry anymore........
Andrea came home on Friday with Molly - Anne....... I went to stay with her....... to help look after her, Molly-Anne and Linda Paige.... I was dreading feeding Molly-Anne but she is a sheer delight.... she has special bottles slightly squeezy..... and believe me she lets us know when her feed is due....and sucks heartily .,....little angel.... burps like a navvy....hehe and other than that lies and gurgles what a delight she is....... before Andrea left hospital with Molly-Anne they told her Molly Anne has a heart murmur..... which really upset Andrea..... on Thursday while I was staying with Andrea a doctor called in to see them......she told Andrea that Molly Annes heart murmur was significant.......... and that she would more than likely need an heart operation..........we were all devastated.........Andrea had just come to terms with the fact that Molly-Anne would need an operation on her cleft Palete....and then this....Andrea has since recevied an appointment for Molly-Anne to see a specialist on April 3rd....... fingers crossed that the murmur disappears......and the doctor is wrong.......

Further to that....I have had to feel guilty about leaving my husband on his own..... he is still having terrible pains in his groin, legs , and feet and has an appointment on 26th of this month....... Maureen can no longer walk......... !!!!

Little Linda Paige loves her little sister..... on a happier note.....yesterday morning..... I was holding Molly-Anne and Linda Paige decided to tell her all about nits being at her school and that when she is a big girl she must tie her hair up so they cant jump into her head......... :D :D

Pam I am so sorry you are having to go thru all this. Hang in there, things will get better!!! We are sending all our prayers to you and your family. Don't get upset about the murmur yet. Wait till you see the specialist. If that is the case I'm sure they will have much better information than "she will probably need heart surgery." You have enough on your plate right now. I know it's hard but please try to take care of yourself too! Hugs and slobbery kisses....

I just looked at the pic of Molly-Ann and she is so precious! I am so sorry that you are having a horrible time...I have been thinking of your family ever since your first post about this new little girl and your daughter and your husband....so many things are on your shoulders right now.
