Help! Our 1 yr old Boxer is urinating on the floor...

I was wondering if anyone had any good behavioral suggestions for this scenario:

We were away for Christmas and left our 12 month old boxer, Sasha, at the kennel with our veterinarian. We were gone for a week and a half, and since we have returned (about 1 1/2 wks ago), Sasha has peed on the floor right in front of us about six times. She will look right at you and just suddenly squat! We have caught her every time and told her "no" and taken her right outside to potty but I am not sure if this is working.

We had a couple guesses...maybe she wants attention and this is the way of getting negative attention? We try not to yell at her when she does it, just a firm "no" and take her out...but she is still getting both of our attention.

I am also worried maybe they didn't take her out to the bathroom enough while she was kenneled and she ended up just peeing on the floor of her kennel where she stayed? Maybe a bad habit formed?

My only remedy right now is going back to square one with potty training, taking her out every two hours or so and not giving her an opportunity for an accident. I am just worried this isn't working, because she seems fine for two days and then out of nowhere she will squat and do it again.

Has anyone had a similar experience or just have any good suggestions? She was so easy to potty train as a pup, we have never had ANY problems with her at all. I really don't ever want to kennel her anywhere again................................

Have you had Sasha checked for a urinary track infection? If she has one, she probably just has to go all of a sudden, depending on how bad it is, of course.

Well, I am not sure what the outward signs are for that (other than the unusual urination) but I will definitely take her to the vet if this happens one more time.
That's a good suggestion...I didn't think she would have a medical problem...
I will have to research UTI's in dogs...

Maybe someone else will chime in, but I doubt there are a lot of other obvious signs. In one of us, of course, we might experience a burning sensation. There's no true way to know if the dog has this sensation, since we can't ask. We, as humans also experience an urgency to go sometimes, which may be Sasha's issue. Alternatively, you are doing the right thing to go back to potty training 101. If that doesn't seem to work, I'd get a urinalysis run or at least talk to the vet about her symptoms.

When Daisy gets put in time out or gets in trouble at night she would poop and pee in the floor... Especially when daddy deployed... She did this every night and had to go back to her kennel... She is still sleeping in the kennel due to her chewing and pooping... hopefully Daddy can continue his training when he gets home... She is real vengeful

Could be her way of trying to re-establish pecking order in the house (and try to get to be in charge)? Just a thought.
