Help! Odd behavior...

Last fall, we found out the Ginger had heartworms & round worms. She did wonderfully with both treatments & was back to a normal activity level by January. Here are my problems:

Ginger is house broken, but it seems like since the treatment, she urinates in the house more often. She won't even let us know she has to go - she just lets herself onto the porch and goes. During the day, she's fine & the crate is dry. Could this be a result of the treatment? Could it be behavior? She will on occassion just let go in the house as if nothing was wrong with it.

One more question: Ginger also vomits almost everyday. It isn't after she eats or runs in the yard. She will usually graze for a while, come inside & then suddenly start heaving. When I let her out, she heaves violently until only a small amount of bile comes up. Yesterday she did this so bad that she fell over. Could this just be huger? Or something more?

Any help would be appreciated.

Boxers will vomit if their stomachs are empty for too long a time. Maybe you could try feeding her smaller meals more often during the day.

Both of mine have done this. I used to think that Baylee was having seizures when she'd heave so hard it would make her fall over. it turned out it was acid reflux that was building up in their tummies after going so long between meals. I have two solutions: try feeding more frequent but smaller meals and tell the vet that your baby sometimes has nausea and ask about Metroclopramide. I feed mine smaller meals 3 times a day and that has definitely helped. Occasionally Abby will still vomit bile and I'll give her a syringe with Metroclopramide and it helps her nausea go away. :) Kinda like Tums for doggies!

Thanks for the advice. I had watching my girl stagger around the yard in distress. There is no pattern to this behavior - that's what makes it so hard to figure out. I am hoping when she goes in for her yearly exam that maybe they can tell me what's going on with her. In the meantime, I'll try the smaller meals and keep track of what's going on with her.

Thanks
