Help not sure what to do here

Hello all,
I love boxers too and so many in our neighborhood have them or want one. Unfortunately there is one down the street that shouldn't have any animals. They had a boxer that was caged in a crate all the time that was put to sleep because it was not able to grow and got to the point where it was not able to stand. They just put it to sleep. Instead of letting the dog run around it was kept in a crate all the time. I wasn't aware of this until recently someone told me what happened. Now they have another boxer and it is kept in the garage all the time chained to a weight bench 24/7. I have seen this and don't know what to do. This poor baby wiggles and it so happy to see people and just wants some love. I don't know how this baby is supposed to develop muscle tone when it can't run around chain is only big enough to move a few feet. I was wondering if anyone had a brochure on how to take care of a boxer and introductions to boxerworld that maybe they could pm or email me so I could put it in their mailbox and maybe that would help. Right now bad thoughts are crossing my mind about how to help the situation. I can't stand people who get animals just for show. Anyone can help me please let me know. I am not good at writing brochures and things like that and need help. I appreciate you all on boxer world and your suggestions.

I called them and was told that since the animal has food, water and shelter(the garage) there was nothing they could do. I don't have proof about the crate just that the puppy was put to sleep and I see this puppy everyday and so does the neighborhood but no one will speak up. They don't do anything to people out here when they leave their dogs in hot garages, chain the dogs up outside/inside on hot days without shade. I am looking for something that talks about hot days and hot garages and how boxers need to run and play in at least a yard in order to grow and develop corrrectly. I will sneak it in their mailbox and maybe that will help. Otherwise not sure what to do. THey are not friendly and don't talk to anyone in our area. Thanks for the suggestion but I already went that route and they aren't able to help.

Also the dog is underweight so animal control said they can't do anything about this. Let them know if the animal is underweight (straved) or if they don't provide water, food or shelter otherwise there is nothing they can do. They didn't like it either but there is only so much they can do. Thanks for the idea. I am thinking maybe a brochure might help just by letting them know someone is watching and knows about the situation. I am just trying all the ideas I can think of. Any other sugggestions are appreciated.

Maybe letters or notes letting them know people are watching would help, but by the description you gave, I have a feeling it won't help.

In these instances you just want to dognap.

Have you thought about trying to sneak over late at night and cut the chain? Then you could take the dog to a shelter or rescue.

People like that don't deserve the unconditional love a dog has for them.

Dog tied up in garage

I agree with Tulsa Dan and I know that you have said that you have tried this already. I live in an area and just reported a puppy for the exact same thing, the owner had owned a dog previously and thought it had run away and found it about 10 days later caught on something behind it's dog house. It had been there the whole time hearing her call and not getting fed or watered, this person thought this was funny and said that is one stupid dog. No I think she is stupid, she did go out and get another puppy and the same thing is happening to this dog. I reported it and was told the same thing as long as it had food and water and shelter their hands were tied. I intend to make a nusiance of myself until they intervene, so far nothing. I asked her the other day how her pup was, it is 6 months old and never been able to run never had a toy or chew, and she said I guess alright I don't get out to the backyard very often. Duh, How is it getting fed??? I will make a nusiance of myself until something is done.:(

is there any time when the owners are not home and the dog is accessable? not that i'm suggesting anything.... really tho, if it gets to that point, i would not think twice. this animal deserves better. i got my dog for the sole purpose of spoiling him and loving him, and to hear about people like this just makes me sick to my stomach.
