Rolen and I are going down to my mom's house next weekend and my husband will not be going with us. He has a guy's trip planned. Rolen has been to my mom's many times, but he's never been left alone in her house. We have to leave for a few hours to attend my baby shower and I'm looking for ideas on occupying Rolen while we are gone. He loves his crate at home, but flips out in his crate when he's not at his home. I'm planning on leaving him in my mom's kitchen without his crate, but I don't want him to be really stressed out. Any help with making this an easy few hours for him and I?

At home we never leave our girls inside when we go out because we have a fully enclosed yard but when we visit my mum and dad we have to leave them inside because they have no fences. I was really worried about it the first time so I just took them for a good walk before we went and then left nothing but a couple of toys for them to destroy. Came home to find them snuggled up on their blanket sound asleep :)

Yes, good idea to get him tiered before you leave. You could also leave a stuffed and frozen Kong for him to keep him busy for a while.

Even if your not brining the crate you might want to bring the bedding from the crate. That way there will be a comfortable familiar smelling place to rest. And a frozen stuffed bone or Kong is defiantly a good idea.
