Help! Need a Long Island Boxer Vet

Hi everyone!

I posted yesterday morning about grand mal seizures in my Otis, but after looking at many sites, it may be Boxer Cardiomyopathy. The seizures have been more closely resembling syncope.

My vet did a heart xray and a two minute EKG, but he shows normal in both. I don't think he can offer a holter, which can assess arrythmia much better.

I have a strong hunch about this, but need a vet who can 1) recognize BCM, and 2) test for it.

Anyone? Help?

I am trying to rent or purchase a holter monitor as we speak. I do not have the money a veterinary cardiologist would charge for this test. The consult alone for the clinic you mentioned is $110, and the overnight stay, EKG and holter setup and reading would set me back approximately $600.

I would like to see if I can get my hands on one first, as my vet has agreed to attach the electrodes properly for the test. He does not have a holter, but is willing to learn!
