Lizzy's Biopsy Results Are Back....
OMG, thank you all again for the support, and all the boxer vibes, it has been awesome. Lizzy is doing great today and looking MUCH better after eating, and looks like she's already put weight on (yes, in 1 day!). I feel terrible thinking I 'starved' her for 4 days after surgery, without knowing how much pain she was in :( Darn Vet.....
OK, TO THE POINT! THE NEWS HAS COME IN.......
Lizzys biopsy was diagnosed as Peniculitis(sp?), which is basically an infection that can be caused by any number of things, or ALSO could be the infection surrounding any cancerous cells, which would alter the biopsy results. HOWEVER, my vet assured me that he took some very deep, and very good samples from her when he did the biopsy, and that he got right into the middle of the mess to pull his samples. He said with that, and the biopsy NOT showing any signs of cancer, he feels comfortable in diagnosing the infection and continuing the antibiotics for 2 more weeks. If the softball is still there after that, then we opt to remove it...which then will definately give a diagnosis. So, with the biopsy results, and Lizzys improvement in eating, and no other blatant signs of cancer, we are moving forward very positive! I am certainly glad NOT to hear the worst, or that time is short- limited to weeks (I feel for everyone who's baby was not as lucky). Although we aren't out of the woods yet, Lizzy can smell the end of the trail!
I'm soooooo relieved, and I owe a ton to all of the great members here. You guys are awesome, and Lizzys little nubby was wagging today faster than it has in weeks! I think she could tell the good news! Will keep updates on her progress!
WooWoo's from Lizzy to everyone! fiesta1ico fiesta1ico fiesta1ico
