Well, Lizzy's at the vet :(

Thank You to everyone for your support, I know Lizzy feels the prayers...she woke me up this morning by giving me a "pre-shower" bath! That big wet tounge was telling me she was staying strong....

Took her to the vet first thing. He said if this was his dog, he would immediately do a biopsy to get a definitave answer. I really hate to put her under the knife, but I can't see how I have any other choice. I need to know.

So, Lizzy was just left at the vet, she should be wrapped up and ready to come home around 4pm. My baby looked so scared being led away from me to the back room, I really am praying things go well.......
Will keep you all updated. Thanks again for all the prayers...

Oh, poor Lizzy. Just caught this thread and hope your pretty baby does well in the surgery and the results of the biopsy are negative. Prayers and positive vibes are on the way for Lizzy.

I know how you feel, Mike. My Samson is right now at the vet having a tumor removed. We will have it biopsied to see if it is cancer or not. I am missing him like crazy right now. Good luck, I sure hope Lizzy is okay, and you will be in my thoughts.

LizzysDad,

I hope that you had a biopsy or aspirate done. I have my own thread going about my beloved dog Riggo who has leukemia with some lymph node crossover and while not to alarm you I think for your own peace of mind a biopsy and Complete Blood Count would tell you a heck of a lot.

My Riggo had a biopsy and he survived just fine. She'll have a little patch where they shaved her but otherwise she'll be fine

You're in my thoughts and prayers.

LizzysDad Sure wish you a heaping tons of luck from the vets office today. Lizzy sounds like she has the true boxer drive and ambition to get well so that is a plus. So happy you took her to the vets and are going to figure out what is wrong. As others have stated we will be looking for any future updates. Thanks for keeping us all posted with the follow-ups.

My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Here's what I've given Joey when she was sick - diareah and no appetite - it helped her put weight back on:

1 cup kibble
1 cup steamed white rice
1 large spoon lo-fat cottage cheese
1 spoon of organic all natural tomato sauce

Gosh you guys, the wishful thinking and boxer healing vibes are wonderful, although I haven't lost my baby, I still grieve for her in her current state, it's nearly as rough, but I DO still have her with me. She's been a trooper!

Got her back from the vet today, she ran from around the corner and was thrilled to see me after all day there (and very disoriented). She sat in my truck staring at me the whole way home, obviously still sedated, but still drooling all over the place!! Thats my girl!! Thank God for leather.....

She did excellent after the biopsy, vet assured me he got several excellent cores, and is sending them to UT Pathology lab (#1 in state), so I should know something by Friday. Her wound looks good, she seems as comfortable as she could possibly be in her bed......snoring so loud she's vibrating the floor! Boxers!
RIGGO: Did they successfully eliminate the cancer, or is she in remission under treatment? (or were you referring to the biopsy?) I'm so glad she's doing good now.

As bad as Lizzy feels, all the boxer vibes/support have helped! I really think she can feel the positive energy through me....thank you all so much. Will let all know upon test results. Please keep fingers crossed!
