has bumps on his back!! They came out of nowhere! Could they be heat bumps?!? I try to walk him early in the morning (around 5-7 am), again in the late morning-early afternoon (around 11-1 so we can avoid the hottest part of the day) and then later in the evening (7-9pm). Lately it has been 104-108 at the times we don't walk and cool enough for Kalama to walk during the time we do. What should I do?!? Call the vet? Poor guy.....he's not itiching or anything but they look like the bumps you see on slippers with the "massage bumps."

Thanks for any suggestions!!!!! He's my buddy and I love him. He's my girlfriend's baby, so she calls me from work every hour......Whoa boy there's the phone!!! Thanks again! :)

When in doubt, seek help out ;)

Heat related maybe, but if they have just come out of nowhere and don't seem to be going away I most certainly would be having a vet take a look at him. Sounds like a reaction to something.
I would like to commend you on the fact that you are walking him during the coolest times of the day. During the heat spells here I am out with my dog before sunrise, and after sunset. In between I only let her out for quick pees and then back in.
Keep us posted as to how he is making out.

Thanks buddy'smom

I have to give the vet a call (his office is always so busy.....) but I appreciate the response!!!!! I will keep you posted!!

Hey buddy'smom....

vet appointment isn't until Sunday morning, he said to wait and see today (Sat.). Like a charm, the bumps are disappearing rather quickly...!!!!! smashicon

Well Hey! isn't that always the way? you call the doctor and immediatly start to feel better! Anyway I would still take him in, explain to the vet how they looked, the duration they lasted, and what he was doing prior to the breakout. If your vet feels it was an allergic reaction to something ask if you are able to use benadryl should he have another breakout! Good luck and let me know what the vet says.
