Boxer Pal
Ok, we have a 5 year old male brindle who for the last 3.5 years has has a serious incontinance problem. No matter how much we let him outside, there is always a puddle of pee somewhere in the house. We've worked hard for the last 3 years trying to rectify it including numerous vet visits to try to determine why, diapers, crates, etc., with no luck. To make it worse, I now have 2 small babies and can't keep the floor clean enough for them to be on it. Sometimes when he goes out, he will pee for 75-90 seconds straight. The vet has ruled out an obidence problem and feels it is a physical problem, but we went as far as we could go without shelling out a ton of money for some other medical options. Other than this problem, he is a well adjusted, fun loving boxer. Basic obidience, won't run away when off leash, in fact is very seldom on a leash unless in a public place. Comes when called. Very good with other dogs and kids. He is an inside dog that we treat as one of the family, so he gets to use the couches and the beds if he so desires. My family is at the end of our rope with him, and although we love him to death, don't feel we can offer him what he needs and feel he would be better off with a loving family perhaps on a farm or something where he could go outside whenever he has to or a family that has someone home during the days. I will mention that he is an escape artist, have yet to find a way to contain him in an area that would make cleaining up a bit easier. Crates, gates, doors, fences are no obsticle for him, if you put him in one of these and leave, I guarantee you he will be out when you come home. Anyway, as much as we hate to do it, if there is anyone who thinks they can make a loving home for him, feel free to respond, but I will say we will be very strict in our guildlines of selecting a family as we only want the best for him and this dog is not leaving this family unless we find someone in a better position to care for him in the way he needs to be cared for. We are in Kentucky.
