I just finished reading this and I wonder if that is what happened to our boy, Talos...
We adopted him from a local rescue group and he was miserable looking. He still has some mange in about 6 patches (not active now
!) which is also on his ears and the end of his stubby little tail. The patches appear to be slowly healing, but the ears are still looking like he was eaten at by something :(. Our Vet said it is probably scar tissue and may or may not ever heal. He is still our beautiful boy though!
