I have this strange inkling that my boxer is anorexic. We have tried just about everything under the sun, and he turns his nose up at it. He is going on 4 years old, and looks like a 1 year old in that awkward stage. A lot of people think I do not feed him, but no matter what I do he will not eat unless it is covered in yogurt or wetfood. Let's face it, with the economy being the way it is, who can afford this? We were going through a medium size container of yogurt every 2-3 days just to get him to eat. Anyone have any tips...Or stuck in the same scenario?

My last boxer HATED eating. We never gave him table scraps so I don't know what he was holding out for. He did like Merrick Cowboy Cookout food, and went through a fish phase too. Maybe you can get samples.

Its tough to know where to go with this. Im by no meens an expert but if it were me I would try him on home cooking and mix a hand full of kibble through it and week by week increase the quantity of kibble vs cooked food , it just might kick start his eating habits. I know that the down turn in the economy is a globle issue and everyone is feeling the pinch but I do think that spending the extra money on food is the way to go because if he runs into bad health due to poor nutrition the vets bills will be much higher that the food bills.
I mix a small amount of wet food with my dogs kibble as they dont like dry kibble and I have been told by a few that if they were hungry they,d eat but they wont and it kills me to see them hungry.

What brand are you feeding him? Is he healthy otherwise? Does his poop look ok? You could also try mixing in some low sodium broth (cheaper).
