You can add some oils to his food. Like fax seed oil or salmon oil or even olive oil can be beneficial. By all means have you vet test for worms, but don't worm him unless he as worms. :)

Good luck with your puppy.

thanks

Thank you ..I thought it was some type of oil but wasnt sure....And yes he was at the vet about three weeks ago and he didnt have worms or fleas, he just said he has dry skin. Thanks for the help.

Changing foods may also be a good idea. Nutro foods have an awful lot of flours and things in the top of their ingredient list ( compare foods at : http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=comp-wiz)

My dog had allergies to food, which gave him dry skin and he ended up tearing all the hair out of his legs.... he now switches between canidae and chicken soup and he is all better.

Thanks heather,
Recently I have switched foods to chicken soup and canidae, I am curious how often I sould change between the two ....Or if its better to just stay with one kind until he gets tierd of it ..thanks so much for the help.

I stay with one food until deuce gets tired of it. I buy the biggest bags I can find (chicken soup is 35 lbs and canidae is 40 lbs). Usually deuce makes it through 40-60 lbs until he is tired and will no longer eat the food.

I know when you switch foods you should mix them 1/2 old and 1/2 new for a few days so their stomachs can adjust to the change in diet.

Let me know if you see an improvement on the chicken soup or canidae. Canidae has done WONDERS for deuces skin, and his growth! He has gotten taller and heavier w/ the canidae!
