my 2 1/2 year old female has cronic vaginitis (yeast infections). One vet has no idea why, others say it has too do with urine that is not emptying out completely. this has been going on since she was 8 wks old. the problems is extremely irratating for her and for us. she is getting them more frequently (3-4 times a month) and it usualy lasts 2-3 days. when she has them, she can't control her bladder and her urine is bloody and puss filled. I know this sounds disgusting, but we are at the end of our ropes. we know that this is painfull for her and it breaks our hearts when she has it!!!!
has anyone else had this problem? is it common amoung boxers? does anyone have any ideas or any remedies that have worked. I am not against medicating her on a daily basis, but our vets don't seem to know where to start. (they keep saying it will go away with time but it's not)
Thanks for any input..we appreciate it

I would recommend having your vets run a urine culture. (which is sent to a lab) This will tell them which antibiotics will work for the type of infection she has. She might need to go on antibiotics longer than the normal dosage to get completely rid of the infection.

Some are more prone to UTI's than others.
Is it possible something else is causing the frequent UTI's?

Good luck and keep us posted.
