Help, Bravo is acting up.

Hello everyone. I have been a member of Boxerworld for a while now. I haven't had time to actually sit and relax. Here is the deal. Bravo has been with my husband since he was a puppy. So Bravo actually has more respect for my husband than he does for me. I mean don't get me wrong he obey's me, but when my husband is around, Bravo is an angel! Anyway well we got a another boxer along the way. Her name is Baby. Now Baby follows me around for some reason (maybe cause she is a girl) Now my husband is in the military. He is currently downrange. He has been gone for almost a year. When my husband first left, Bravo would sit by the door just waiting for my husband to show up. He did this for about three months. I guess he got the point that his dad would not be coming back for a while at least. So Bravo started acting very bad. I mean I work so they get a room to themselves. They were good for awhile. But when I would take them out for walks, after he handled his bussiness like almost a thousand times as soon as we came in the house he would pee all over. He did this all the time. As soon as my husband came home for R&R, would you believe he stopped. He was again acting like an angel. Once my husband left back, it took Bravo three days to go back to his routine. I really don't know what is going on. I mean I know he misses my husband but there is no need for what he is doing. Any suggestions? I need help please. I'm going nuts here.

You need to go back to housebreaking 101 when your husband leaves. Also, go back and begin obedience training with your dog(s) and be sure to let them know, especially Bravo, that you too are leader of the pack and are to be obeyed, just as your husband.

Keep him as occupied as possible during your husband's absences either with obedience classes, walks, car rides, whatever. Let him know that he can have just as much fun and freedom with you, depending upon his good behavior, as he can with your husband.
