Boxer Pal
Hello,

My name is Kevin. My wife and I had a beautiful boxer named Spike. Spike was white with a brown patch on his rear quarter. We adopted Spike December 18, 1997 - at the time he was 3.5 years old and weighed 65 lbs. We had to put Spike down on Friday, he was almost 12, he weighed about 100 lbs at the last vet visit two months ago.

Sorry to post a such a depressing first post everyone but in another thread I would like to post my experiences, the ups and downs and how lucky my wife and I were to have had the opportunity to have had such a wonderful dog in our lives.

Just to say to all you current owners - love your boxer friend with all your heart, take plenty of pictures and be sure to have him or her spayed or neutered and checked often with your vet. I know it's all common sense but sometimes people get busy and after the initial excitement wears off their wonderful pet can sometimes be forgotten about.

Take care,

Kevin

Sorry for your loss

I am truly sorry for your loss. We lost our first male (heart attack) on 8/13/01 just 3 days after my dad died. My father loved Bubby and I believe he didn't want to go alone. We had to put our female Babs down on 12/24/03 with a brain tumor. It hurts like nothing I have every experienced. We don't have any skin kids so the 4-legged ones are all that we have. We went 7 months childless and now we have Independence Day our salvation. When the pain eases consider another boxer. I didn't think that I could love another dog as much as I did the first two but my heart is full again. Best of luck to you and we are praying for your loss.
